FAQ

Q. What is Midland University Giving Days?

The Giving Days are Midland University's first annual giving campaign that inspires students, alumni, friends, faculty, and staff to come together to show pride in their alma mater, and offer essential funding to support current and prospective students in their pursuit of higher education. This event is a great opportunity to spotlight your affection for Midland while generating energy around philanthropy.

Q. When is it?

Our giving days will take place on October 8th-11th, 2020.

Q. Who can donate?

Anyone may donate. Donations through Midland University's Giving Days website are tax-deductible and cannot be refunded. Contributions may be made via credit and debit card only. Donations will be received and receipted by GiveGab.

Q. Is there a minimum gift?

There is a $5 minimum donation.

Q. Where does my Giving Day gift go?

Supporters are encouraged to give to the Annual Fund. The Annual Fund is a key source of expendable income and one of the college’s best resources to address emerging opportunities and respond to unanticipated needs and challenges of students, like scholarship support. Additionally, you have the option to donate to a specific area of the University that you feel passionate about.

Q. Is my payment secure?

Absolutely - The Giving Day is facilitated by GiveGab, a company that has partnered with Stripe, a PCI Service Provider Level 1 (the most stringent level of certification possible) to process all gifts made through givingday.midlandu.edu. Read through Stripe's security documentation online.

Q. Can I send a gift by mail or phone?

Yes. However, due to the tight period of Giving Day, only gifts made online, by phone or in response to Giving Day mailings count toward overall totals and competitions. If you would like to make a gift by phone on October 8th -11th, please call (402) 941-6053.

Q. How will donations be distributed?

Each donation made to Midland University will be disbursed directly from GiveGab via direct deposit to the University.

Q. How much of my donation will Midland University receive?

There is a 3.5% processing fee and a 2.5% (+ $.30) bank fee for donations made using all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express) or mobile pay (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Microsoft Pay). Payments made via ACH (bank account) have a $100 minimum and will have a 3.5% processing fee and a flat $3 bank fee. You have the option to cover these costs in addition to your gift. If you choose not to do so, the cost will be absorbed through the college’s administrative budget, leaving 100% of your gift to support students and to remain tax deductible.
