FAQ
Q. What is Giving Day?
Giving Day is a fundraising event aimed at bringing the campus community together through engagement and donations. It inspires students, alumni, friends, faculty, and staff to come together to show pride in their alma mater by sharing on social media and donating to a favorite area of Midland! This event is a great opportunity to spotlight your affection for Midland while generating energy around philanthropy.
Q. When is it?
Our giving day will take place on November 10.
Q. Who can donate?
Anyone may donate. Donations through Midland University's Giving Day website are tax-deductible and cannot be refunded. Contributions may be made via credit and debit card only. Donations will be received and receipted by GiveGab.
Q. Is there a minimum gift?
There is a $5 minimum donation.
Q. Where does my Giving Day gift go?
Your gift, your choice! While we would encourage you to support our Area of Greatest Needs, we understand that you may have specific passions at Midland! With that, we're giving you the option to support another area of need - scholarships! Scholarship dollars will always be one of our biggest needs and you can support the area of your choice: Academics, Athletics, or Performing Arts.
Q. Is my payment secure?
Absolutely - the Giving Day is facilitated by GiveGab, a company that has partnered with Stripe, a PCI Service Provider Level 1 (the most stringent level of certification possible) to process all gifts made through givingday.midlandu.edu. Read through Stripe's security documentation online.
Q. Can I send a gift by mail or phone?
Yes. However, due to the tight period of Giving Day, only gifts made online, by phone, or in response to Giving Day mailings count toward overall totals and competitions. If you would like to make a gift by phone on November 10, please call (402) 941-6053.
Q. How will donations be distributed?
Each donation made to Midland University will be disbursed directly from GiveGab via direct deposit to the University.
Q. How much of my donation will Midland University receive?
There is a 3.5% processing fee and a 2.5% (+ $.30) bank fee for donations made using all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express) or mobile pay (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Microsoft Pay). Payments made via ACH (bank account) have a $100 minimum and will have a 3.5% processing fee and a flat $3 bank fee. You have the option to cover these costs in addition to your gift. If you choose not to do so, the cost will be absorbed through the college’s administrative budget, leaving 100% of your gift to support students and to remain tax deductible.
